“Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas.” * * Elizabeth Murray
The picturesque garden has grown along with the owners, old and new, as well as the many guests who have shared their memories with ZiZi.
From the verandah you will see the circular rose garden featuring the centered pegola surrounded by climbing roses. This area of the garden boasts over 80 roses bushes with the most exquisite colours and smells.
The rose garden is also home to ZiZi’s organically grown veggies; depending on the season here you will find tomatoes, peas, aubergines, bell peppers, chillies, spinach, carrots, red lettuce, onions, beans, fennel, celery, beetroot, coriander, rosemary, basil, dill, mint, oregano, parsley, thyme all of which guests are encouraged to enjoy.
The 1 hectare garden is fenced in so little people can’t get out; the farm-style fences prevent wild buck & wandering cows from getting in!
ZiZi is proudly associated with Bird Life and boasts an extraordinary amount of resident bird-life; including a regular visits from a Fish Eagle. Full details of what has been viewed at the Estate can be seen here.
Who can tell whether it’s the joy of breathing the fresh air, the magnificent views or just being – at ZiZi – that encapsulates time here; you decide.
